SSL on default server settings

Hi

I've set up my linode using just the default server settings (i.e I didn't set up separate virtual hosts) as I only need to host one website on it (plus I was having problems with the virtual server set up)

Does anyone know how I can set up apache to use commercial ssl certificates using just the default settings?

The instructions in the article below says it assumes virtual servers have been set up - can I use the same instructions?

Or do I have to modify: /etc/apache2/sites-available/default-ssl

Thanks in advance!

(Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS)
