Why would anyone risk doing an inplace upgrade on a major point release?

If it's time for a new OS, then it's time to get rid of all the old chuff, make sure your baremetal rebuild process is up to date, and do a clean install.

In place updates are nothing but trouble - suitable only for lazy sysadmins and noobs.

Previous versions of RedHat (and thus CentOS) did not have an 'in-place' process that was recommended.

With RH6->RH7 there is a supported migration path. https://access.redhat.com/documentation … Tools.html">https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/RedHatEnterpriseLinux/7/html/MigrationPlanningGuide/chap-RedHatEnterpriseLinux-MigrationPlanningGuide-Upgrade_Tools.html

This process isn't yet ready for CentOS 7. See http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/cento … 11277.html">http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-devel/2014-July/011277.html

is there a good CentOS 7 repo where I can find good packages like SSLH, Roundcubemail and so on?

Thanks!!!
