Help me choose my plan
First, I knew you thanks to this:
Second, my requirements:
crunching numbers 24/7
CPU power, period. No noticeable storage space, bandwidth or particular software (save for one I will provide)
Ubuntu (command-line, ideally 13.10 or maybe 14.04) and either root access or the possibility to add some software and dependancies I will tell you about.
One thing I have to check if the amount of RAM I need. It may be 256 Mb (or less) or up to 3Gb (but no more). I will only know this by testing.
So, what do you suggest me:
24/7 computation
Ubuntu 13.10 + root or you install some software for me
flexible amount of RAM at the beginning (for initial testing purposes)
stripped down of everything else (=> cheaper)
Thank you

These are UNManaged VPS systems, so anything you need, YOU setup and config.
Does linode proposes baremetal/dedicated too (what's the difference, by the way?)? Since I need CPU power, any virtualisation layer would be a reduction in power (of course, if depends of the power/dollar ratio).

… It seems that I can create several VM. …
You can create several VMs, but only one of them can run at any given time.
