CNAME for non-www domain name?

Hello all,

I've got a domain name - alastairmoore.com - which I want to point to my github.io pages account. I've got the www.alastairmoore.com domain pointing using a CNAME but need to create a CNAME record for the non-www version of my domain name. Can anyone suggest how this can be done?

Many thanks,

welly

We do not allow CNAMEs on the root of a DNS zone, as they violate the DNS specs (CNAMEs cannot coexist with any other record types for a given hostname, and the root must have other records).

You'd need to use an A/AAAA record for the root of the zone.
