backing up an encrypted linode

hi all,

since linode's backup service don't serve for encryptred setups, does anyone have any idea how I could go about making a backup of my xvdc drive? and then have an easy way to install it if something bad happens?

(i've emailed linode support directly first, and they suggested i ask here)

now i will patiently sit and wait for the replies…
