Light and easy solution

Hello,

I have 2gb linode package. Right now I need only one email address just for contact form.

What would be the easiest solution? I tried to set up citadel but I stucked on accessing web interface.

THank you.

Many domain registrars offer free email with the registration. If you really only need one address, that would seem easiest.

Who is your registrar?

I need it under main domain. Is it possible?

nogomax,

Yes, it's possible. If your registrar provides a free email account with each domain then you simply use their offer. Your MX records will point to their mail server (this is the default for most registrars that provide free email accounts).

If your registrar doesn't provide a free email account you can usually find low cost options for email hosting and point your MX records to that service.

We use a mix of options. Some of our clients purchased their domains through GoDaddy so we have them use their free GD email account (eg, username@clients-domain.com). We also run a small mail server for our clients that need more than one email address. One of our clients has a block of email addresses at a service so we simply point their MX records to that service.

I can see my registrar provides offers mail creation but it is only explained how to do it through cpanel.

You mean like trusting the Borg, I mean Google? Too bad they got greedy-er and stopped offering free domain email hosting.

Microsoft might be a boondoggle infused with a healthy shot of dumb and dumber, but they're currently the only free domain email hosting in town.

So it's either that, or install Postfix and run your own email box (or pay the Borg to abuse your data while charging you $50/user/year)

And because he said 'light and easy' I would recommend against rolling your own mail server.
