Email with Postfix, Dovecot, and MySQL need assistance

Hi there,

I've gone through the Email with Postfix, Dovecot, and MySQL tutorial at ~~[https://library.linode.com/email/postfix/postfix2.9.6-dovecot2.0.19-mysql#sphdovecot" target="blank">](https://library.linode.com/email/postfi … ph_dovecot">https://library.linode.com/email/postfix/postfix2.9.6-dovecot2.0.19-mysql#sph_dovecot]( for my Ubuntu 12.04LTS Linode. Everything during the install has gone smoothly but I've tried setting up a email account in Evolution to send a test email, and it fails to query the server for a list of supported authentication mechanisms.

The appropriate ports are open. Could someone give me some assistance with where to start?
