After migration/upgrade getting a boot failure

Just taken the free upgrade… The upgrade seemed to go well but then it failed to boot after the upgrade with "Linode failed to boot for unknown reason."

Opened a support ticket and got great fast support from Lee to advise using the 64bit kernel and not the 32bit kernel for now whilst they investigate some issue. Worked great and back up and running.

Just need to check if this has any effect on my server and other installed software.

You can run a 32 bit OS under a 64 bit kernel. This is highly unlikely to break anything.
