Deploying a 2nd OS

I have a spare disk partition (i.e., one that is not used by my primary

Linode profile). I have setup a 2nd profile which specifies that spare

partition as a boot partition. My question is: How do I deploy an OS

to this 2nd partition so I can boot this 2nd profile as an alternative to

my primary profile. Thanks for any input.

Hi,

First off delete the 2nd config profile and 2nd drive image.

Then go in to the deployment page, select the distroy you wish to delpoy and fill in the rest of the details. Once that has been submitted a config profile and drive will be created.

Thanks, Adam, for the input. I followed your instructions and all seemd to

go well. However, when I boot the new profile I'm informed of a successful

boot but the linode then almost immediately goes to a 'powered off' state.

So, I have been unable to access the node while running under the new

profile. Of course (thankfully) the original profile works just fine. Any ideas? Thanks.

Sounds strange.

Try looking at the console output during the boot it may give you some sort of clue as to what is wrong.

Thanks, Adam. I'm squared away now.
