Box Downtime Estimate?

Hello,

I've been considering a linode for web development and was curious about downtime. I'm realistic: usermodelinux is continuing to evolve, and there are sure to be bugs and glitches that understandably need to be worked out, even as reviews seem to be highly positive. I'm curious about a very rough estimate of how often a whole box crashes and not just individual host instances.

Thanks!

I've had my Linode for around four months. The only time the host it runs on has been down was for a scheduled kernel upgrade (to deal with the /dev/kmem exploit, mostly). It had 60+ days of uptime before that reboot and it's been up ever since (> 50 days).

Hi,

I dont think a box has ever crashed.

Serveral of the boxes had uptime of 100+ days, they are listed on the forum somewhere when caker was doing reboots for kernel updates.

The hosts only go down for kernel updates or on the rare occurance when things happen out of the control of linode.

I've been a happy customer here since September, and the only unplanned/uncontrolled downtime was due to a power failure at The Planet which was beyond Chris' control afaik, and totalled about 10 minutes downtime :)
