Install CentOS 5.8 without upgrade?

Hello,

I'm new to Linux so be gentle. :)

I wanted to know if there's a way to put CentOS 5.8 on my Linode without upgrading from CentOS 5.6. I remember reading on the distribution list something about rolling your own, but I have no idea what that means.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

JT

There is no operational difference between CentOS 5.6+updates (through February 2012) and CentOS 5.8. Once you do a yum update on CentOS 5.6, it will become 5.8 (or whatever the latest is).

That's good to know. I'm still trying to understand this Yum thing, but it seems really cool. I ran the Yum update as part of the Kloxo install, which I'm still working through. Thanks for your help.
