Weird behaviour when logging in as root via nomachine

Hi

Firstly I know I shouldn't log into my Ubuntu server as root via nomachine but there are some times when I need to because I can't figure out how to do something without using it.

When logged in as a user everything is fine but when logged in as root if I press D on the keyboard any program open minimises and comes back up when I press D again. This is so annoying.

Any ideas as to what the cause may be.

regards,

Richard

That sounds like Windows + D showing the desktop then showing the apps. In Windows that's always meant that Windows thinks the Windows key is pressed when it's not. It's not a keyboard issue at all, it's a flaw in every version of Windows from 95 to Win7. Pressing the Windows key on the keyboard has fixed it until it happens again.

Looks like Ctrl+Alt+D is the shortcut for that on Ubuntu:

So I'd try pressing those keys to see if fixes anything.
