DNS has no concept of primary, secondary, tertiary, … for authoritative nameservers.

All the designated (by NS records) servers are considered equally important and will receive (with some margin for error) the same amount of queries.

Thanks hawk7000!

When registering a local domain I can set only two nameservers (ns5.linode.com & ns4.linode.com).

In cPanel I can set 4 nameservers (ns5.linode.com, ns4.linode.com, ns3.linode.com & ns2.linode.com in my case).

I do not have ns1.linode.com in my settings, could it be a problem if ns1.linode.com is primary DNS?

ns1.linode.com is not a 'primary' DNS server. As hawk7000 explained, DNS has no concept of primary, secondary etc. ns1.linode.com is just one of five servers that are available, all of which are slaved off of other machines within Linode's network that are not publicly accessible.

Thanks pclissold, now I understand!
