Is Linode 64 good enough for this?
I am about to open an account with you, but I would like to get some information before doing so.
1. I am planning to run a low traffice web consulting site and a personal web site on the same account. THe account will mainly running:
apache + php + mysql
exim + spamassassian
a client only forum based on invision board
a personal gallery php script - 4images
some web developments….
Is a Linode 64 good enough for this type of configuration? Or will I need more. I am sure I won't use up all the bandwidth or diskspace, but I am just not sure about the memory part.
Again, this will be a very low traffic site. I am able to do it currently with another VDS provider, but I would like to transfer over to Linode.com becuase of the different options that I like.
Thanks for all your help.
Regards,
Kevin

I don't believe you would have any problems running that under a Linode 64.
The memory is the only thing that might eventually cause slow-downs, but there are some advantages (in terms of performance) from being on a big host machine.
The host machines utilize their extra RAM for cache of the file-system. So, let's say you have a large MySQL database that would benefit from sticking around in RAM rather than reading off the disk often. Well, even though your Linode thinks its reading blocks from its disk image, they very well may be coming from the hosts's cache, without any disk reads. So, performance is somewhat of a mix between your Linode and the host.
Short answer: I think you'll be fine
