I do have access to the account, the website is
and
I also see 8 or 9 other domains in the domain zone such as thecsem.co.cc. Are these all domains created for my VPS or are they not real domains?

These are your DNS entries. This tells the nameservers of Linode (nsX.linode.com) to route for example thecsem.co.cc to the IP 123.45.67.89.
There are the following things to do to keep your domains and stuff:
* Get/Buy the hosting packet first and check if they have an own domain name service.
* Find your (old) domain name provider (like GoDaddy or Parsec) and grab the credentials.
* If your new provider has an own name service: Disable the domain transfer lock first. Then issue a domain transfer at your new provider telling them to move all your domains.
If necessary cancel the contract at your old domain name provider.
****If your new provider __doesn't__ have own name service:**** Change the nameservers at your current domain name provider to the new servers of your new provider.</list>
* Check out what to move: If you have a full-featured Wordpress Blog running backup the database, migrate it and copy all files to your new provider.
If you have static HTML (not Wordpress, vBulletin etc.) you can just copy that stuff to your new provider's server.</list>
* If everything is doing well with your new provider cancel your Linode server.
Hope it's clearing the whole thing a little bit up.

@serene:
You can also check out for the hosting services…
One of the services they do not provide is grammar checking their forum spam.
