How many times do you want to raise it, and in how many different forums? And each time you have had people answer, with suggestions as to what you can do about it?
We understand your plight and we also understand that linode have said they wont change their methods to suite you. Why are you so hell bent on insisting that a company change to suite you?
Most of us here are happy with how linode run their business, which is why we are customers. From what we have all seen, linodes online billing system is automated so that they dont have to spend their time chasing money or payments from people, or trying to deal with out of the ordinary payment methods that cant be integrated into their existing system.
We like that rather then spending their time trying to deal with and sort out money transfers and issues, that they spend their time giving the rest of us new features and toys, and improving the systems drastically.
Your not going to win us over to your side by continually filling the different forums up with your complaint. And i suspect you dont want to win us over, just get your desired out come. but in the process your annoying the vast community here that support linode and like the work that they do.
If you are unable to pay with the payment methods that linode offer, and the linode team are unable to support your alternative payment, you need to stop pandering them and start looking for a company that will meet your requirements, as it would seem that linode do not.
After consulting with my own bank, I found that there are ways to protect from fraud using an international wire transfer. So, hell, I figure that I'd do a risk assessment and let the guy buy one of my "Node-Like Xen VPS Systems," which of course are really just white box'ed Linodes.
The guy doesn't want to buy from anyone but Linode. While I like Linode and all, his absolute insistence on Linode and Linode alone is kinda… I'm wondering myself why he can't accept a 5 dollar (average) markup on a Linode for the convenience of paying with whatever odd payment system he wants to.
@Talman:
After sending a PM to the guy about his wire transfer, I noticed that he is hell bent on Linode, and only Linode, accepting his wire transfer payment thing.

And yet his eventual solution was exactly the same thing, he wired the money to somebody who had a credit card to pay for him.
I also heard many accounts of misinformed Americans who did not understand bank transfers were risk free.
I guess I heard from the enslaved FOX news society? Fear, criticize, question, bomb …… all what is unknown.
Seings the many problems created by Americas credit industry today Im shocked others would not prefer to cut out the middleman altogether too,
I would send linode money. Or someone I know. Someone who approaches me as a middleman in a forum presents too great a risk.
However, the lynch mob can continue…
@AntiNSA:
No. Its not the same. I had to beg distant family members. Only to hear stories of all that are losing their homes. Only to hear people scared to death that I had a secret plan to steal their money. American propaganda, fear mongering, hardship and addiction to credit and general non-human like treatment towards others as a result becoming bi-products the psychological demoralizing environment created by the millions of credit consumers spending beyond their means…. I have not finalized, but have been able to locate the elderly sister of my deceased grandmother, who is trying to help.

How is that different, though? Talman offers a service where he resells Linodes and accepts other types of payments. He acts as the middleman to enable people to pay with methods Linode doesn't accept. You are using a relative to do the same thing. I don't see the difference.
You seem very critical of American society, and although I'm not American, it really doesn't seem to be relevant to the topic at hand (it's also kind of hypocritical considering China's horrible human rights record). You never told us why you can't get a credit card, only that you can't. Is it that you can't, or you won't? You talk about the evils of the credit card industry, and while it's true that they're really in it to make a buck, they provide a valuable service that does not necessarily require one to borrow money on a long-term basis.
I have a credit card. I use it to buy almost everything. I pay my bill in full each month. I pay no interest, I have no complaints.
You started at a very expensive Linode, instead of trying the $20/mth one and scaling up from there. Are you sure you need a 1536MB linode? A smaller instance, properly configured, can handle a very large amount of load. You can save a ton of memory by using a well-configured fastcgi configuration with lighttpd/nginx (or even Apache).

I chose linode because of the respect it had in the Drupal community. I have no such information on Talman. While he may have good intentions, I can not blindly give him 650 US dollars. My family I trust more than him. If you can show me he has an established reputation of respect like Linode does, I would reconsidered.

I hope you can now.

Thats fair enough given my previous statement. I made a generalization
based on my opinion about the current financial status and media industry. Its only my personal opinion. Certainly China has its share of problems.

Both.

Yes. Amongst other things.
> I have a credit card. I use it to buy almost everything. I pay my bill in full each month. I pay no interest, I have no complaints.
Thats nice. I think there are many consumers who suffer fromover consumption and are debt ridden to financial institutions. Such things as predatory lending and and and.. Which seems prevalant in the US.

I am not sure, but I need to be safe. My last managed server was brought down from my site. Constant 503s and worse. Please see my other posts when I requested info about which server size was right for me. I cant risk this happening again, and Drupal takes a lot of service. I hope that I will have the chance to downsize if I am using too much.

Thank you for your advice. I am new to managing servers my self and linux. I am trying to find out as much as I can as fast as I can. I have heard keywords which I am trying to research now. Many people say nginx is great. At the same time I hear that the Pantheon/Mercury project is the way to go. I am trying to find out the key features of each and their functions as fast as I can. At the same time I am teaching 28 classes a week , developing the site (on hold till transfer is done) and the normal fathers everyday challenges.
Thanks for your advice on the NGINX suggestion.
