libapache2-mod-php5 cause a huge load to server

Hi,

I tried to install libapache2-mod-php5. After installation and activating the package it will give a huge load to the system (swap are maxed up) then apache is unresponsive to request. We need to enable this but the server will render unresponsive.

Details of Operating System:

DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu

DISTRIB_RELEASE=10.04

DISTRIB_CODENAME=lucid

DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS"

Then linode will auto email has exceeded the notification threshold (1000) for disk io rate by averaging 12029.46 for the last 2 hours.

For now the package is not installed for normal operations.

Any ideas?

Thank you

By default, Apache's configuration assumes you have a server with enough resources to handle 150 PHP requests at a time. Since you don't, you will need to adjust the MaxClients configuration option.

Hi hoopycat,
