Subdirectory that points to a subdomain

This seems to be sort of what you are looking for: http://www.guruofsearch.com/redirect-fo … -subdomain">http://www.guruofsearch.com/redirect-folder-to-subdomain

So if a user visits http://domain.com/stuff/ he is acutally watching http://stuff.domain.com without showing that he is on the subdomain.
