cPanel reports error that mentions my /etc/host.conf file

Linode Staff

I just upgraded to CentOS 7.5, and my cPanel is showing some errors with regard to my /etc/host.conf file. Any ideas for how to fix this?

If your /etc/host.conf contains spoof, nospoof, or spoofalert, those commands can break functionality for cPanel on CentOS 7.5. To fix this, try commenting those lines out in that file.

This bug was reported on Red Hat's Bugzilla site:

Bug 1577265 - nospoof, spoof, and spoofalert were not implemented and apparently removed.
