Network activity before setting up a webserver

I just opened a new Linode over the weekend and have not done much on it other than set up a user account. However, in the Linode manager there is some network activity over the last 24 (in the graph)… should I be concerned? It wasn't really very much activity, but it wasn't zero. I wasn't SSHed into my server at the time.

It'll never be zero. And the graph will scale to make anything look significant. Your node has to respond to ARP requests, and do DHCP, and it could be pinged or something, or get other traffic which meets with a port-closed response, but still counts as traffic.

That's what I figured, but I'm new to this stuff so I figured I'd ask :) Thanks!
