upgrade size and still keep my backups?

My website crashed and I can't get it to come back to life
I want to use my linode backup

However when I went to use the linode backup it says I do not have enough space to do that

so my thought process is to upgrade the size of my linode and then use linode backup.

BUT if upgrade my size, will this delete my backups making what I want to do unattainable?

Obviously open to other idea if you have any
