kernel panic

Hi guys.

I have some problem with my linode filesystem.

I had checked with e2fsck (finnix), but now I can't boot the machine.

Lish reporting: Kernel panic - not syncing: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel.

I need to rebuild the initrd?

thx

check your /boot/grub/menu.lst and make sure you haven an init= being passed to the kernel.

What distro are you running?

My boot dir is empty!

I'm running debian Etch..

I think that I've to reinstall all..

freedom's suggestion applies if you're using pv_grub.

If you are, try switching to a Linode kernel (since they don't need an initrd) and see if that fixes it.
