Debian 5 - Environment Variables

I'm a linode newbie, trying to setup a linode as a nameserver.

When I run apt-get, I get a long list of warnings about various environment variables (LANG, LANGUAGE). I'm told "can't set the locale, check that $LC_* and $LANG are correct", that the process is "falling back to the default locale", etc.

What is going on here?

How do I fix this?

apt-get install locales-all

I consider this a bug in our template and will get it fixed.

Thanks,

Alternatively, apt-get install locales and just generate the locales you want.
