Linode IP

Using Putty to log into VPS. It is prompting for IP. Is it the one in my Linode Manager?

Hello,

Yes, you can enter the IP address listed in your Linode Manger, which will then allow you to connect using Putty. The default port for SSH is 22 and should already be open on your Linode, so you should only need to enter your username and password at that point to complete the connection (unless you are using Public Key Authentication, in which case it should just connect). I have linked our guide on Securing Your Server, which contains instructions for enabling Public Key Authentication, as well as some other recommended SSH security settings.
