Which is the best DC in terms of speed and reliability

Which is the best DC in terms of upload/download speed and reliability.

I have signed up but not able to take a decision on DC. I am more concerned about speed and reliability and ping times

Please help me decide on DC :)

You'll probably get the best speeds from the one geographically closest to you. See !download for servers you can ping and files you can download in each location to compare them.

Thanks mnordhoff. I will check the download speed.

I would also like to hear about which DC is most reliable from Linoders experience

That…doesn't matter very much. They're all professional data centers, with multiple-nines uptime, but nobody's perfect. In my experience, the most common source of downtime has been DDoSes against other users clogging up the network for <30 minutes, and that can hit any of the data centers.

Is there still an issue with Atlanta DC filtering some ports like 6667? That might matter to some.

I used to be on Atlanta but moved soon as Newark opened up since it's so much closer to me.

Yeah, they still do that, AFAIK.

Well….overall speed and reliability I'd look to Dallas (ThePlanet). They have a truly solid network while often times you'll see issues with the other locations.

Fremont (Hurricane Electric) is also one of the very best in the U.S. AFAIK, Fremont's reliability has been at least as good as, if not better than, Dallas.
