latest coreutils pkg in Arch Linux semi-broken

Using 2.6.18-8 Xen kernel (latest 2.6), the latest coreutils (6.12-1) package is broken. 'touch' no longer works because a syscall is missing from that kernel. The syscall is 'utimensat' which was introduced around 2.6.22. Here is a thread with more details:

It's my understanding that any of the 2.6.2x kernels are not ready for Xen and their use is discouraged/risky. Is that still true?

2.6.26 needs wider testing before I'm going to make Latest point to it, but so far it's proved itself to be just as stable as 2.6.18, if not more. I suggest giving it a shot :)

Will do! Thanks.

edavis, let me know how it goes for you. I'm also running Arch, but a switch to any kernel newer than 2.6.18 causes a constant ~3% CPU usage, whereas my Linode is normally idle most of the time.

The ~3% CPU thing is a side effect of pv_ops. It's totally cosmetic.

OK, great, thanks.

I rebooted with the new kernel yesterday and all is well so far.
