Please suggest how I can upgrade my current ubuntu version from 18 to latest on linode machine
I am trying to install new OS(Ubuntu 18 to latest) but facing issues. Please suggest best possible ways step by step to upgrade.

The two primary options when upgrading linux distribution versions are the "Inline Upgrade" and "Clean Install" methods. Both have their advantages and are talked about in greater detail in our documentation/guide here:

If going the "Inline Upgrade" route, we would definitely recommend having a backup prior to making any changes to your existing setup.
While the guide I linked above is not specifically about upgrading to the latest version of Ubuntu, but 22.04 LTS, the steps are largely the same (just with the difference being the version number referenced).
