Although Domains are transferable, they require direct assistance from our Support Team (unlike self-service transfers of Linode servers). In order for us to facilitate the transfer of your domain to another account, we require you to take the following steps:
Account Sending the Domain/Service:
- Open a ticket through Cloud Manager requesting to transfer services
- Specify any and all services you wish to transfer
- Confirm the username and ticket number (detailed in the next step) for the receiving account
Account Receiving the Domain/Service:
- Open a ticket requesting to receive services and confirm the ticket number from the account sending the services
- Confirm any and all services you wish to receive
- Confirm the username of the sending account
- When applicable, confirm that you accept that once you receive a billable service, you are responsible for the charge on that account
Once both tickets have been opened and all necessary information has been provided, our Support Team will be able to facilitate the transfer. As long as DNS records are in place and have propagated, nothing will change other than account ownership and control of the Domain Zone.
