When will Freemont data center add support for the metadata service?
So I like to use the metadata service when creating a Linode and I noticed if I use the Los Angelos datacenter I see the User Data collapsible form on the setup page but if I choose Freemont which has better latency to my address it does not show the metadata service field to enter user data. Is there a timeline for when Freemont will add the metadata service so I can more easily setup my Linodes?
Is there a page that lists the supported features at each datacenter?

While we don't have a timeline on that or any specific plans so share, if that does happen, it will likely be announced on our blog.
It doesn't look like Metadata has been included on that page yet, but we do have a guide to help choosing a data center that offers a list of most available features by region. The Overview of Metadata Services doc shows which regions support that.
While I can't promise that will happen, I've passed along your desire to see that feature in Fremont to the appropriate team so that they know there is interest in seeing that change.

- Has a start been made on Metadata for Debian 12 Bookworm instances
- Are there obstacles to include Frankfurt data center
Gratefully
@hper - You can check out this guide titled Use Akamai's Metadata Service with Cloud-Init on Any Distribution for instructions on creating an Image compatible with the Metadata service for any distro. As of now, Metadata is only available on our Ubuntu 23.10, Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, and Debian 11 default images.
Additionally, you may have noticed that Metadata is only available in our newer data centers. We are in the process of improving all of our data centers with the goal of each location offering similar services.
We don't have ETAs to share on when Metadata will be available on our Debian 12 image nor when it will be available in the Frankfurt data center. However, I went ahead and added your requests to our internal tracking for features.
