Weird problem with winSCP *_*

I can use putty just fine, but when I try to use winscp to connect to my server, the program stops at "Starting the session" and just hangs there forever. I tried to login other servers just fine.

Any suggestion is really appreciated since Im a linux newbie.

Perhaps make sure you have winscp set to use scp not sftp. I believe it defaults to sftp.

Thank you for the suggestion. It was set to sftp indeed, and I changed to scp just now, still stuck though. This is weird, winscp bug?

can any other scp clients connect to your server? I use WinSCP to upload to my linode with out problems from my windows computers…

Do you recommend any scp client other than WinSCP for windows? Im using WinSCP to access other severs just fine tho.

The same folks that make PuTTY distribute a command-line scp client. You could try that…or just install Cygwin. Then you'll get a decent shell to work in as well.
