Can I create an account for my customer?
Creating a new Linode, setting it up and transferring it to another account is well described here.
But, assuming I am a Linode Reseller, can I create an account for my customer?
If so, how do I do that practically? How is the handover done correctly?
The goal would be to create a customised Linode for my customer. My customer would become a new Linode account holder and handle all future dealings with the Linode himself. I would handle the Linode creation and all the "paperwork" with creating the new account.

I highly recommend you check out our Guide to Resell Linode Services to get you started. I also recommend that you read through this Community Questions post for more information. One important thing to note: you do not need any special authorization or permission in order to be a reseller.
We do offer discounted pricing for resellers if the monthly spend is over $500. If you are interested in discounted pricing, you can contact partnerships@linode.com, or check out our Partners page for more information. We also have this brochure that explains all the benefits of our Partner Program.
The major thing you have to keep in mind is that your customers' actions are still bound by our Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and Terms of Service (ToS) but you are responsible for their actions. Functionally, this means that we can tag your account to note your status as a reseller, but you will still need to respond to any ToS Violation ticket generated by your customers.
Lastly, there is no way to split services and payments by individual customers on the same account. This has negatively affected some customers when some of their clients did not pay them on time which led to the disruption of all services on the account.
