Moving overseas, will this be helpful
I am moving overseas and want to keep my work in the states. All of my work is browser-based (no IDEs or CRMs etc). Would a VM from Linode be a good fit for me to remote into via Wireguard?

I don't think there is anything special they Linode has that any other cloud host (i.e. Digital Ocean, AWS, etc.) or managed host (DreamHost, pair.com, etc.) does not have.
The only issue you will have is whatever latency there is via distance from your overseas location and the USA.
Wireguard is a VPN protocol, like OpenVPM, IPsec, etc. I'm told it is a bit faster than OpenVPN but not as stable.
If you use one of the larger VPN services you will have lots of choices of what country you can actually 'run' from. Thus, if you are in London and your server is in New York you might find that your service has an East Coast VPN server you can connect through which may speed things up just a bt. (I use Witopia VPN which has a wide choice of data-centers throughout the world.)
I assume you know that Linode is cloud-host which is different from traditional fixed-location web hosting. Unless you either have a background in Linux administration OR you want to learn it, you would be better served to get a traditional fixed-location hosting company.
