I cannot install software using yum

When I use yum install package, the package manager tries to find mirror.centos.org and then fails. It then tried other repos, such as linode ones and fails. Should it be possible to install packages from the standard repos ?

Hi Alan - Nearly all of the previous CentOS Linux distros have reached EoL, so official mirrors and repos aren't available for them any longer:

https://endoflife.date/centos

However, there's still official repositories out there in some capacity:

https://centos.pkgs.org/

There's also a few non-official repos that you can use:

https://tecadmin.net/top-5-yum-repositories-for-centos-rhel-systems/
