Has anyone setup a Linode bucked as a 3CX Backup Location

We have a small third party 3CX instance (i.e. not on Linode) and wish to back it up to an external location such as a Linode Bucket.

As far as I can tell 3CX does not explicitly support this:

and

However I was wondering if anyone has been able to get it to work?

Based on that first link you reference and having never used the 3CX service, I would venture a guess that backing up your data to a Linode Object Storage Bucket may not work. This is because they are Amazon S3 Compatible and Amazon S3 Buckets are not supported by 3CX.

In the case that you'd still like to give it as shot however, you may want to read over this guide on using Restic to backup a Database to Object Storage as well as this post from our Community Questions site titled How to backup block storage to object storage discussing Restic and rsync.

Yes thanks for the feedback, we'll do this another way for now.
