Download a Linode backup file
I have two backup files; a manual one from 2018, and a rolling backup from 1/10/2023 on a Linode server. I would like to download them to a local hard drive so I have an offline copy, just in case.
I got instructions from Linode using SSH to download the 256Mb files but my team has not been able to download them.

Hey Barry - if you reached out to the Support team regarding this issue, they likely sent you toward this guide on Downloading a Copy of your Backups.
You mentioned your team is having trouble downloading the files. If you can share the issues they're having someone on this site may be able to get you pointed in the right direction to resolving the problem. I'd also suggest sharing the steps they took while attempting to download the files as well as any errors they are seeing.
