Something happened in 2022 and my linode is broken

I've rented a linode for over a decade and use it mostly as a web server (apache2) for static content. I have a fair amount of content on it, including some dormant WordPress sites that I hope someday to revive. The last time I was able to update content on it (via ssh and scp) was April 25th 2022.

Something happened after that. There was email in my inbox in July about an address change at Linode.com that would require shutting down my linode. But I was away travelling from June through early Sept and didn't pay attention to that message (was far from internet and phones most of the time and only dealing with urgent personal emails). Anyway, I realised a while after returning that my server was down -- just now finally got around to dealing with it when other fires were put out.

So I can still get logged in to Linode.com all right and reboot my server, and it looks like it's all there.

Seemed OK at first, lish console still works -- but I cannot get into the host via ssh or scp and its apache server is not accessible either. It's been a long time since I configured this vhost and I have no idea what's going on. I notice its ip address (as seen by itself) is not what I'm getting from nslookup, but is that relevant?

kind of hair tearing here -- I've been using this linode as a trusty workhorse for basic http page serving, something I never think about or look at because it "just works" -- and now it's suddenly toast and I haven't a clue.

Did anyone else go through a disruption as a result of Linode's IP address reassignments this summer? Got a clue for me?
