Where can I get help with open streaming platform?

I am having issues with trying to install open streaming platform on a dedicated 8 GB server in the Freemont CA data center.

I am trying to perform the default single server install on Ubuntu 22.04.

After performing the install (which appeared to have gone okay), I get a bunch of the following errors:

[2022-10-19 00:11:18 +0000] [940] [ERROR] {'level': 'error', 'message': 'ejabberdctl failed to load: [Errno 111] Connection refused'}

2022-10-19 00:11:19 +0000] [954] [ERROR] {'level': 'error', 'message': 'Unable to Set Override Themes'}

Is there anyone who can help?

Or better yet, can anyone suggest a self hosted live streaming video service platform that I can set up on a dedicated 8 GB Linode? This is only for a hobby. I don't need to fuss around with paid video streaming.

Thank you

A quick Google search brought up Owncast which may be of use to you. I have no experience with it, but this may give you live video streaming for a use case as a hobby, or perhaps more.

Good luck.

Thank you! I will look at owncast.

This video walks you through setting up a Linode with Owncast through the Marketplace.

If you want to try something else, we also have this guide on setting up your own RTMP server using Nginx and OBS. Have fun!
