Mysql access problem

Hi, I have created a mysql database.

I added my own IP in Access Control, but I can't connect to this database on my computer, I made sure I am connecting through "host", not "private network host".

I found that if I add any linode node ip in AccessControl, I can connect to this database from this linode node.

How can I connect to this database directly from my computer?

I use both SSH as well as phpMyAdmin (installed on my Linode… there is a doc/guide on installing phpMyAdmin that Linode has.)

(I don't know what Access Control is.)

"Accese Control" is a setting for linode's mysql database, which allows you to set which ip's can access the database.
