How do I find a free partition of 10GB?

I want to do “Linux From Scratch” (the book) on a Linode server.

It says I need a 10GB free partition.

This thread explains a bit about partitions on Linode, but I’m a beginner so it’s hard for me to understand: https://www.linode.com/community/questions/2582/partitioning

All I understand is possibly instead of partitioning, I should “think of disk images as partitions”.

Can anyone please help me understand if partitioning is possible and if so how, if not why not?

Thank you

I think the guide you're looking for is our Managing Disks and Storage on a Linode guide. The guide covers how to create and resize disks through the Cloud Manager. Once you've made changes to the disks, you'll then need to update your configuration profile to ensure that the disks will mount to the Linode at boot.
