What API Permission Does NextCloud Need?

Hi, first time user here and I'm reading through the instructions on how to deploy Nextcloud here.

I am trying to figure out what permissions should I enable/disable for this first time install?

The documentation doesn't specify anything other than, "The Nextcloud Marketplace App needs a Linode API v4 token to create a domain name system (DNS) record for the Nextcloud instance."

It would be nice if someone can assist me with this, as I do not want to give unneeded permissions from the start.

Thanks!

Hi there @bionicworx, welcome to the Linode community!

The Nextcloud Marketplace App needs a Linode API v4 token to create a domain name system (DNS) record for the Nextcloud instance

Just from this text, I would expect it needs read/write permissions for Domains (which is the section that holds the DNS records.)

This is assuming of course you have a domain already added to Linode. If you have a domain hosted elsewhere, you would need to add an A (and AAAA for IPv6) record for your new Linode manually with your domain’s DNS provider.
