Problem with Nanode and Domain to VPS pointing

Hi. I am new to VPS and cloud hosting. I got a domain from Namecheap and I did not host it. I got a Nanode from Linode and I intend to use it to host my domain as a private server. I used ns1.linode.com-ns5.linode.com as my nameservers in my domain and i got stuck. I'm not sure I edited my A records properly or maybe, I'm not using the right IP of my Nanode. My domain does not show anything for now. Please help

There’s going to be two IP addresses: IPv4 and IPv6. You can set the DNS to resolve on both if you choose.

I would double check this guide and double check what you entered so we can better help. Keep in mind that it can take up to 24 hours for website’s DNS to resolve.

Also keep in mind that in order for a domain name to work with a server, there has to be way for it to resolve. Meaning, have you setup Apache/Nginx already or some other application?

Thank you for your reply and suggestion. Thing is, like i said, I'm new to this. I haven't set up Apache or Nginx. How can I do that? Looking forward to your reply

Hi again. I just setup Nginx and I also used certbot SSL. Something finally came up. I assume this means my DNS settings are correct, yes?

I’m more familiar with Apache since historically that’s what I’ve used, but they essentially do the same thing; serve webpages.

To setup and find out if things are working, you’ll want to look at one of the following guides.

For Nginx you’ll want to look at this guide: https://www.linode.com/docs/guides/how-to-install-and-use-nginx-on-ubuntu-20-04

For Apache you’ll want to look at this guide: https://www.linode.com/docs/websites/hosting-a-website

You've been most helpful. Thanks a lot for your assistance
