How do I mount a server file system locally?

I want to mount my Linodes disk to my local computer as a disk. This will allow me to transfer files to and from the Linode easily on a Mac or Windows computer. How can I mount the disk from the Linode to my local computer?

There are a few options to mount your file system locally. I personally use Cyberduck to mount the directory I am working with, and transfer files accordingly like I would a Finder (or Windows Explorer) window.
