Recent Migrations are Failing -- anybody having similar problems?
Hello,
We have been a Linode user with multiple Linodes for more than 10 years (at a couple startup companies and also a university account).
In recent years, we have had many automatic migrations (sometimes scheduled maintenance, and sometimes Emergency maintenance), with no problems whatsoever. Everything has worked fine.
However, our 2 recent Linode migrations (10 days ago) have failed and we are getting an error 502 (bad gateway) and we received a notification from Linode saying that the autobackups have failed and the issue is being explored.
We are using Django with an NginX load balancer. But its important to point out that we have never had these problems before, even using the same exact server architecture.
I'm not sure why migrations worked fine before and now they are having some issues.
Have anybody had a similar experience? or have some advice?
Did Linode change the way they do Migrations? Is there something we need to do special to restore our server?
Thank you!

Hello,
Our problem is resolved.
We have reviewed our servers (we have 10 Linodes on multiple accounts) and discovered that the specific servers that were migrated were missing auto-reboot scripts. This explains why the migration worked fine on some servers and not others. There was no problem with the Linode hosting.
Even though Linode will automatically reboot the server after migration, certain servers need additional processes to be restarted, which may need to be done manually. Something to keep in mind.
There is still a problem with backup failing on the migrated server, but we have submitted a support ticket to further investigate that issue.
