OVA format

Can I install Sandbox(an OVA format software) on Linode virtual space running VMWare ESXi without the need for bare metal?

An OVA file is a virtual appliance used by virtualization applications such as VMware Workstation and Oracle VM Virtualbox. It is a package that contains files used to describe a virtual machine, which includes an. OVF descriptor file, optional manifest (. MF) and certificate files, and other related files.

@tonyejianya it sounds like you're asking if Linode's infrastructure supports nested virtualization on our virtual servers. This isn't something we currently support, but bare metal is on our roadmap. You can signup for our Green Light Beta program to be one of the first to test out this offering, and others, when beta is open.

Hope this helps!

@rdaniels Thanks for the feedback, any idea when the Green light Beta begins?

@tonyejianya We don't have a date to share at this time, but we'll be sure to announce it on our blog and we'll also notify those who have signed up for the Bare Metal beta.
