Linode LKE and Kubecost
Hi all,
Kubecost (GitHub) is a pretty neat tool to estimate costs per workload within Kubernetes. I just installed it, but the projected estimates are way high. It's not too surprising, because the tool seems to be built to query the big 3 provider's billing APIs. There's some notes in their FAQ about custom pricing, but I'm not really sure what to put here.
So that said… has anybody been able to set up Kubecost with their LKE cluster?

This does sounds like a pretty neat tool, @undercover! This isn't something I've used personally, but I'm not sure if their price break down will work with our billing based on the below excerpt from one of the page you shared:
As an example, let's imagine a node with 1 CPU and 1 Gb of RAM that costs $20/mo. If your base CPU price is $30 and your RAM Gb price is $10, then these inputs will be normlized to $15 for CPU and $5 for RAM so that the sum equals the cost of the node. Note that the price of a CPU remains 3x the price of a Gb of RAM.
That being said, I suggest reaching out to their support as there may be a workaround that can be implemented for other cloud computing providers. Kubecost support has a few ways you can contact them. They may also be able to answer more granular questions about their product.
