Moving a nanode image from one account to another

So… I've been reading through this article:

https://www.xpressservers.com/download-a-local-copy-of-your-linode-backup/

…and I've managed to kick off a dd transfer of the /dev/sda image (it has been running for about 10 hours now with a little over 22 gigabytes downloaded).

I basically want to hand off my linode image to a friend. Is this a valid way to go about this is is there some faster better way to accomplish this?

Hey there -

The easiest way to transfer a Linode or an image between accounts is to let us do it for you. All it takes is opening a couple of tickets - one from you and one from the receiving account.

We have another post here in the Community that gives you the specifics of what you need to do for a transfer, so please take a look. Once we have the required information from both yourself and the receiving account, we can make that transfer for you:

Transfer Services Between Accounts

I hope that helps!
