cant connect to filezilla

whenever i try to connect to filezilla it says "Error: Authentication failed.
Error: Critical error: Could not connect to server"
i put in all the right info. why is this happening

Hey @sinixmusic. Generally, authentication failures (whether via FTP, SFTP, SSH, etc.) happen due to incorrect credentials or a public key pair mismatch.

We have another Community post written up with some good troubleshooting steps to go through when trying to connect with an FTP client such as FileZilla: I can't connect to my host using FileZilla/FTP; Authentication failed, Could not connect to server

To give you a brief rundown: You'll want to double check your login credentials, how you're logging in (password or public key authentication), the port via which you're trying to connect, and to make sure your server is configured to listen for login attempts.
