How can I increase disk space on set up Linode?

Hi,

I run out of disk space on my Linode. For some reason deleting files from the server does not free up space. Not sure what I am doing wrong.

Message that Linode displays.
100% of your 20480MB is allocated towards 2 disk images.

I rebooted after I deleted files, but this did not change anything.

Please advise how can I free ups some space. I can re set the server from scratch, but if there is an easy way to solve my problem IO would love to know it.

Thanks,
Anna

Hi Anna! The message you're seeing is only for how big each disk is, not how full of files it is. We can't see into your Linode from our end, unless you have Longview installed, so the Cloud Manager only shows how much storage space is available for new disks.

To find out how much space your disk is using you can run the following command:

df -h

If you need to resize a disk for any reason we have a guide here :

Resize a Linode Disk
