transfer my Linode servers to other accounts
I'm engineer. In the beginning, the server of my company is registered by my account, and now we would like to transfer the server to the account of company, how can i do?
I think i just add a user account to in the Accounts -> Users, and add the account name of the company, but it shows as below:
Username taken. Please choose a different Username.
It sounds like the account should be a new one and just a sub-account by my account, if it's true, that is not what i want.
I would like to add my company's account, and then my account leave.

My suggestion would be to open a support ticket in the General/Accounts/Billing category. They should be able to help you out.

I was working on a response to your questions, but see that stevewi beat me to it. While they're on the right track, I wanted to give a little bit more context to transferring Linodes between accounts and what you can add to a Support ticket to get things moving faster.
With regards to users on an account, for the circumstance that you're describing, I would suggest your company create their own Linode account. This will help to separate the responsibility for billing, but also ownership of the account. What that means is, you can retain your personal account, and the users added to it, while your company will then own their account, and the users set up for that account. If you're unfamiliar with users on Linode accounts, I would recommend reviewing our Accounts and Passwords guide.
Once they're all signed up, then Support can easily transfer ownership of a Linode without any downtime. To transfer the Linode, we'll need to have two Support tickets, one from each account. If you have any additional services, like the Backup Service, a Block Storage Volume, or Longview, then we'll want to confirm that you want to transfer those additional services as well.
Some quick notes about transferring additional services:
- Block Storage Volumes: you'll need to detach that before we can transfer both the volume and Linode to the new account.
- Backup Service: Transferring backups means you're also transferring any historical data available in any of the available backups. This is important to consider, especially in the case of Snapshots, which can last much longer than the automated backups.
When we get confirmation of all services being transferred from both accounts, we'll make the change on our end and let you know through the ticket.
