How do I migrate a rackspace server to Linode
Hi team,
I have a server that has been running on RackSpace since Ubuntu 12.04 was current.
I want to migrate this server to Linode.
I saw in a 2yr old post some detail about DD from rackspace and DD to Linode.
I would appreciate a more thorough understanding of what needs to be done to achieve this.

The first thing that I'd recommend to you is taking a look at this guide. It's a good overview on the recommended steps you take when migrating to Linode from another provider:

For transferring over your data, rsync is mentioned in the above-linked guide, but you can also use any utility you like (like scp).
